World Certification Institute (WCI) is a global accrediting and certifying body that confers professional credentials to qualified individuals and accredits eligible courses offered by organizations such as universities, colleges, schools, professional institutions, and training companies.
WCI does not conduct courses and does not compete with any national accreditation bodies or universities. Instead, it provides an independent framework for recognizing professional competence and accrediting courses that support career development.
Academic and professional qualifications form an important part of the assessment criteria for WCI Credential Awards and must be obtained from recognized universities or WCI Accredited Institutions, where applicable.
Course Accreditation Process
The accreditation process involves a detailed evaluation of the course and the organization delivering it. Key areas of assessment include:
- course content, structure, and duration;
- qualifications, experience, and competence of trainers;
- financial standing, governance, and integrity of the course provider;
- adequacy of facilities, learning resources, and support systems;
- methods of course delivery and assessment; and
- relevance of the course to specialized competence, professional development, and career progression.
The purpose of the accreditation process is to determine whether the course meets WCI’s established standards for quality, relevance, and professional development.
Accreditation Fee and Validity
An Accreditation Fee is payable upon the successful accreditation of a course.
A rebate may be granted for the accreditation of additional courses from the second course onwards, as well as for the renewal of an existing accredited course.
WCI course accreditation is valid for a period of three years, after which renewal is required to maintain accredited status.
Graduand Certification and Verification
A Graduand Fee is payable when a candidate successfully completes a WCI-accredited course. Each successful graduand is assigned a unique 10-digit WCI certification number, which may be imprinted on the course award or certificate.
The certification number can be used to verify the authenticity of the award through the WCI website, providing employers, professional bodies, and other stakeholders with an independent means of confirming the certification status of the qualification.
This verification feature enhances the credibility, transparency, and value of the accredited course award.
Recognition for WCI Credential Awards
Graduates who successfully complete a WCI-accredited course are deemed to have satisfied the relevant qualification requirement for applicable WCI Credential Awards.
Eligibility for a WCI Credential Award remains subject to the individual meeting the other prescribed requirements, including relevant professional experience and demonstrated competence in the applicable specialized field.
Certificate of Accreditation
An organization whose courses have been successfully accredited will receive a Certificate of Accreditation from WCI. The certificate will identify the accredited courses and indicate the corresponding eligibility level for applicable WCI Credential Awards.
Approved course providers may also display the statement: “Course Accredited by World Certification Institute” together with the WCI logo on the relevant course award certificate, subject to WCI’s applicable branding and usage requirements.
Through course accreditation, WCI provides organizations with an independent framework for demonstrating course quality, strengthening professional recognition, and enhancing the credibility and verifiability of qualifications awarded to their graduates.
Organizations applying for accreditation of their courses by WCI are required to furnish their information in a prescribed form W3 online.
